Sofa Expert AS is a startup specializing in premium used sofas from renowned brands like Bolia, Slettvoll, Hjellegjerde and Fogia.

When we started the collaboration, they already had a working Finn.no shop with around 400 sofas, a physical showroom in Oslo, and a loyal customer base. What they lacked was a website that matched the quality of their products — and that gave them a professional digital presence outside of Finn.

The challenge was not just to build a beautiful website. It had to signal premium quality, handle a large product range automatically, and give the customer full control without requiring technical knowledge.

We designed a website inspired by the top segment of Norwegian furniture design — Slettvoll, Eilersen, Fogia. Magazine-like layout with natural earth tones, lots of air and elegant serif typography.

To handle the 395 products, we built an automatic import from Finn.no. A Python script fetches product data, categorizes them automatically, and updates the website without manual effort. The result is a catalog that's always fully up to date.

We built Sofa Expert from scratch with pure HTML5, CSS3 and vanilla JavaScript. No heavy frameworks, no unnecessary dependencies — just precise craft that loads in under a second.

Backend solutions like Formspree, the Finn.no import and Google Maps were integrated seamlessly. Hosted on UniWeb with free SSL and GDPR-friendly cookie handling.

Sofa Expert now has a digital presence that matches the premium quality of their products — and that generates customer inquiries every week.
